About APRM

The APRM was established in 2003 as a voluntary instrument of self-monitoring open to all member states of the African Union under the framework of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD). The objectives of the APRM are primarily to foster the adoption of policies, standards and practices that lead to political stability, high economic growth, sustainable development and accelerated sub-regional and continental economic integration through experience sharing and reinforcement of successful and best practices. The core guiding principles of APRM are that the review process should be; technically competent, transparent, credible and free of political manipulation.
